Face Masks or Coverings Now Required on Marq-Tran Buses

Marquette, MI  –  April 27, 2020  –  Under the newest Stay-At-Home Order, Marquette County Transit Authority buses are considered an enclosed public space. Starting today, all passengers and drivers must begin wearing face masks or coverings while in transit.

The official statement reads “Any individual able to medically tolerate a face covering must wear a covering over his or her nose and mouth must now — such as a homemade mask, scarf, bandana, or handkerchief — when in any enclosed public space.”

Marquette County Transit Authority is continuing with only door-to-door services at this time for essential rides only, such as trips to work, medical appointments, and rides to pick up prescriptions or groceries. At door-to-door services will remain free to reduce contact through money exchange.
